My wife and I were in Door County for our fifth wedding anniversary – and she was joining me for her first landscape shoot. I was very focused on shooting some rocks (just off camera left) lit by the dawn sun. While doing that, I set up my second camera to capture the sunrise in case anything interesting happened. Between a 90-minute breakneck drive in the dark on the Hana Highway to beat the rising sun and scrambling across lava rocks that are both razor sharp and icy slick - it was a miracle I got this unscathed.
